Fry's ISP Quick Setup Guide: Windows Mail inWindows Vista
Important Parameters
- Dial-up networking connection type: PPP
- PPP authentication method: PAP
- DNS server addresses: Click Here. If your operating system supports it, the DNS server addresses will be automatically configured during the PPP IPCP
negotiation process.
- POP3 or incoming email server: mail.frys.com, using POP3 port 110.
- SMTP or outgoing email server: mail.frys.com (non-promiscious relay) using SMTP port 25.
- NNTP or news server: Try http://www.Google.com/.
Setting up Windows Mail in Vista to use the Fry's ISP
- The first step is to open Windows Mail. This can be done by clicking the Windows Start/Flag button and then clicking "Windows Mail".
- Once the Windows Mail program opens, Click "Tools" and then choose "Accounts".
- The Accounts window will open up. Click "Add" on the right hand side.
- You now have a choice of what type of account you wish to create. Choose email and click "Next" at the bottom right.
- It will now prompt you for your full name or "Display Name". Enter this information in and click "Next" which is at the bottom right.
- Now enter in your E-mail address with FrysISP. and then click "Next". An example is below.
- You will now have to enter in the Server Settings. Type in the incoming and outgoing settings as "mail.frys.com" as shown below and click "Next".
- Your userid is already filled out. Enter in your password and click "Next".
- You can now pick "Finish" to complete the wizard and your E-mail account with FrysISP is now setup.
